How do I schedule a respite stay?

To become a Covey client, please email us at respiteinfo@covey.org or call 920.424.4071 to start the process. If you are already a Covey family, contact your client services coordinator.

What funding sources will Covey accept?

We accept Family Care, County, IRIS, and private pay. We’re willing to explore other funding sources, as well.

How do I secure funding?

For adults, start with your county’s Aging and Disability Resource Center:

For youth under 18, Covey recommends that you reach out to your county’s Human Services Department.

Do you do laundry?

For stays up to 7 days, please send your loved one with enough clean clothes to last the stay. For a stay of 7 days or more, Covey will provide laundry service at no charge.

What do I need to bring?

Here’s our basic packing list:

  • Enough clothes for the stay
  • Personal care items
  • Incontinence products
  • Adaptive equipment, such as braces or mobility equipment
  • Medications

Can I bring my own food?

Yes – should your loved one have special dietary restrictions or you simply prefer to bring food, we’re happy to work with you.

Do I have to bubble-pack medication?

Yes – medications need to be pre-packed by a pharmacy. For safety, medication will not be accepted unless it is pre-packed.

How long can my loved one stay at a Covey respite house?

Youth may stay up to 14 days in a row. Adults may stay up to 28 days in a row.

My loved one is in school, but needs care June - August. Can you help?

Covey welcomes students on summer break. We can accommodate a schedule that will meet your needs. We are a common drop-off point for local clients that attend extended school.
